Alba stool

A solid wood stool featuring a unique surface pattern created through an experimental finishing process. The work embraces a common woodworking flaw: traces of glue left on the wood resist the finish, creating a contrast between coloured and uncoloured areas. A phenomenon typically regarded as a mistake is reinterpreted as the defining aesthetic feature of the work.

The resulting pattern unfolds across the surface in organic formations that originate from the seams between the glued wooden elements. Combined with the stool’s soft, anthropomorphic geometry, these markings create a surface that appears both familiar and ambiguous, inviting personal interpretation.
